Custom Scale Figures
Have you ever wanted a scale model of yourself, a friend, family member or historical figure?
Workflow
Developing a custom scale figure has to start with a photograph of the subject to be modelled. In an ideal world the subject should be standing and all limbs should be in the photograph. As we don't live an ideal world we can work with images of the subject sitting, but is does take a little longer to start the modelling.
Once we've created a 2d image of the subject based on initial photographs we can discuss the pose or poses you'd like your subject to have - sitting, standing, leaning, holding a tiller, standing on one leg with a hand in the air! - all of these and more are possible.
With the poses agreed based on our 2D images we can then develop the 3D models.
Outputs
Depending on your requirements (and budget) we can provide you with:
- STL files with your exclusive right to print.
- STL files with non-exclusive rights to print
- 3D printed models at scale(s) agreed

This set of models were developed for Dean Derusha of Miniature Harken. The starting point was the initial photograph of the subject, the yacht designer Robert Perry
Once the initial image is decided this can then be manipulated into a number of different poses
With the poses agreed the 2D images are turned into 3D models.
Test printing is carried out before the STL files are sent to the client
The client has the final models painted
